INON 'CLOSE UP' (MACRO) LENS

UCL-165是兩倍的放大鏡片。

The Inon 'macro' lenses come in two versions with two different mount types. The UCL-165 is a 2x magnification lens and the UCL-330 which provides a 1.2x magnification. Each lens can have a standard M67mm screw thread or Inon's AD (bayonet) mount which fits to their adapters for the canon and Sony digital housings. See the AD adapter. These are 'wet lenses', which can be fitted to the camera housing underwater. The gap between the housing lens and the 'wet lens' is intentionally flooded. The macro lenses work by simply magnifying the image. As you can guess the 1.2x will give you an image 20% bigger at any given focal lens of your camera lens while the 2x will double the image size. Just like looking through a magnifying glass! The lens do, especially the 2x version, severely limit the focus distance of your camera. The exact distances will depend on the zoom adjustment or focal length of your camera lens but for example, with lens in it's 'wide position', the focus distance may be 10cm plus or minus 1cm. That means anything further away or closer to the camera will be way out of focus. This means that using these lenses underwater takes a bit of practice. The camera to subject distance has to be adjusted first till you hit that 'sweet spot' distance within which the camera will focus. A bit frustrating at first but cool once you get the hang of it. The lenses can also be doubled up for real close work, so if you want to get a good close up of that pygmy sea horses eye just stack 10 lenses together and you'll get the shot (just joking!). The lenses will work above water as well.

PLEASE NOTE - AS WITH ALL WET TYPE LENSES THAT ATTACH TO THE FRONT OF A HOUSING. A DEGREE OF VIGNETTING MAY OCCUR. THIS IS LESS A PROBLEM WITH MACRO LENSES AS IT IS USUALLY DESIRABLE TO ZOOM THE CAMERA IN ANYWAY. IT IS A BIGGER PROBLEM WITH WIDE ANGLE LENSES. EACH CAMERA/HOUSING COMBINATION IS DIFFERENT. THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE IS TO TRY THE LENS ON THE FRONT OF YOUR HOUSING!
